Kate Aspen keeps its finger on the pulse of today’s contemporary bride. Take a peek inside the most recent results of our brides’ trends survey, which continues to garner thousands of responses from all over the country! Now this one is interesting! It seems that the trend toward smaller, more intimate weddings is being nudged aside by larger celebrations! Forty percent of brides surveyed are looking forward to inviting 100 to 150 people! And another 36% are planning on more than 150 in attendance. Wow! We give our brides a choice of six favor categories, and we ask them which one they would buy if they saw them in a store. The number-one choice? Candles! (a main theme in bridesmaids’ dresses and reception colors) Blue! And not just any old, garden-variety blue, but baby blue, peacock blue, Cinderella blue, Tiffany blue, aqua blue, navy blue and that little line-crosser, teal! Our brides’ blues are as diverse and exciting as our brides! And in case you’re wondering, blue is closely followed by pinks, chocolate, reds (including burgundy) and white! (an accent color to enhance the primary color choice, usually used in sashes for gowns, accent flowers, reception décor and napkins.) Ah yes, the traditional white! But not necessarily as traditional as before, with white now used as an accent to punch up the primary color choices–white linen tablecloths, dramatic white sashes on bridesmaids’ gowns, white satin ribbons and bows to enhance bouquets. White is followed closely by black, chocolate, silver and green (no, not just leaf green, but sage and clover and hunter and moss–oh, our brides keep us on our toes!). We’re also seeing a growing trend in the orange palettes–lovely peach sherbets and vibrant tangerines! And keep your eye on yellows! Many brides are bringing a little sunshine into their happy day. Our creative brides have a million fabulous ideas! A few recent quotes from the survey:
