What was your favorite moment during your wedding?

Gina: Since I was planning our Ohio based wedding from Georgia, I asked a trusted family friend/wedding planner and my mother to make our wedding vision happen. They worked tirelessly to go above and beyond to make everything we had in mind come to fruition. I have to say, the unveiling of the ballroom was one of my favorite moments of the night. Seeing all of the beautiful florals, décor and our cake in real life was truly breathtaking.

There was another moment at my parents house before the wedding that topped that moment. Everyone I loved was there. My mom & dad, sister (maid of honor) and my very best friends, who are like family to me, were all there to get ready with me that very big day. We had some down time before we left for the church, and my dad gave this very touching toast to me and Sean and also to all the special people in the room. It was so great to celebrate so intimately and to share that moment before the fun and chaos of the wedding. It was something so priceless.

How did you choose your wedding theme and incorporate those elements into your décor and favors?

Gina: While I am a person who loves trends and fashion, there is also a huge part of me that loves tradition and classic looks. When Sean proposed and I imagined my wedding all I could see is a formal classic affair that would be timeless. Black and white was an obvious choice, and popping in the glamour of gold really rounded everything out. Using some modern elements like black and white stripes and pairing it with gold glitter frames and favor boxes really spoke to our guests about our style. So many people came up to me and said “this wedding just screams Gina.” It was a perfect combination of modern and classic.

Were there any DIY projects you loved putting together?

Gina: Since we both work in design, Sean and I designed all of the paper items used at our wedding. From the menus and menu markers to our guest welcome bags and programs, we wanted to add our personal style and touch to everything our guest received.

What details or moments made your wedding special for you and Sean?

Gina: Truly enjoying the day with my groom. We made a deal that we would not ever spend more than five minutes away from each other so that we can really enjoy every moment of the day together. It seems like such an obvious thing, but a lot of people told me that they spent most of their wedding celebrating separately. That was something that we didn’t want to do and it made the whole day and night that much more special.

What’s your advice for other brides?

Gina: I have two big ones. Brides, enjoy every single moment because it goes by so very fast. Focus on all the people there to celebrate with you and your husband instead of that one little thing that didn’t go as planned. No one will notice, so it’s not worth ruining such a special day. Secondly, splurge on a great photographer. This is the only physical thing that you will have to truly remember and reference from your wedding. Making sure you choose a great photographer to capture the emotion of the whole day is so worth it. We were so thrilled with our photographer and how he captured virtually every moment of our day. Looking back, it is like reliving it again!
