You’re engaged, and it’s time to check those items off the to-do list! But what about favors? Where do you start? Sometimes it’s the little things that guests remember the most. Follow these tips during your planning process to ensure no detail is left out!

Set a Budget
First, start with setting a budget. Knowing approximately how much you and your fiancé are willing to spend on favors will provide a good starting point.
Make Sure It Fits Your Theme
Are you set on a rustic-themed wedding? Did you choose to have a destination wedding on the beach? Find the best favors that match that theme, and stick to one theme only. If you don’t have a “theme,” color coordinate!
Find Functional, Indispensable Favors
Be creative with favors that your guests will actually want. Fill a small planter or tealight holder with a small cactus or succulent for guests to take home.
Everyone loves food! Fill striped favor bags and small favor boxes with treats guests will eat up.
Know Your Bandwidth
If you’re crafty, you may have lots of great DIY projects you want to take on for the wedding. However, it’s important to know realistically what you can and can’t do. In between dress fittings and shopping for bridesmaids gifts, you may not have enough time to complete everything.
Instead of struggling with ten different DIYs, host a party and enlist friends and family to help with your wedding projects! Don’t have the time? Buy favors that are ready to go, like mini personalized jars of honey or customized seed paper cards!
Double, Triple Check Personalization
Customized glasses, bottle openers, and other favors can add a personal touch to your decor and favors! But before you buy, ensure all designs and text are correct. It helps to have an extra set of eyes and ask your Maid of Honor or a family member to help proof.
Purchase At Least Two Months Before the Wedding
It’s helpful to purchase items you want along the way, but don’t wait until the last minute! A good rule of thumb is to buy all your favors at least two months before the wedding date.
Plan Your Favors Display
As you talk to your vendors, keep in mind how you want to display your favors. Include a favor box filled with treats as part of each place setting or stack your favors on their own table for guests to grab on their way out. However you decide to display them, be sure to communicate with your vendors and wedding coordinator to ensure everything is as you envision.
