There is something incredibly romantic about outdoor weddings. Maybe it’s the green and gold color combo or the string lights. But whatever it is, it creates a lasting impression on each and every guest. This loving couple said their vows under the sun at a gorgeous Grove Plantation in South Carolina. The day was filled with elegant DIY decor and happy smiles. Here are six elements we absolutely adored from this outdoor botanical wedding.

Elegant Signage

When guests arrived they were greeted by a simple, chalk welcome sign with a few balloons attached and lanterns beside it. It was clear from the start that this was going to be a romantic DIY affair.

And the welcome sign wasn’t the only elegant signage at the wedding. There was a rustic, wooden reserved sign for a chair at the ceremony, chalk “Mr. and Mrs.” chair signs and even a gold baroque menu sign for when guests entered the reception.

Lush Greenery

No botanical wedding could be complete without lots and lots of green! And this special day was no exception. Lush greenery dotted the tables and even dressed the cake!

But the succulents and greens extended beyond just the decor. The bridal party held bouquets made of natural green plants and the groomsmen wore green boutonnieres.

Wood Accents

Keeping with the natural, outdoorsy theme, wood accents accompanied the lush greenery. The menus were handwritten on a wood-like paper, the centerpieces were a combination of greens and a tree-like wooden stump and the guest signing book was made of that same tree-like wood, too! What a wonderful keepsake to remember your special day.

Vintage Attire

The bride and groom looked stunning on their wedding day! Instead of opting for the latest trends, they dressed in classic vintage attire. The bride wore a beautiful neutral-colored beaded gown with a low back. And the groom wore a simple white dress shirt and brown pants with plaid suspenders. Their outfits complemented each other perfectly!

Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

Another decor element we really loved were the mismatched bridesmaid dresses! While sometimes it looks nice to have each bridesmaid wearing the same dress, for this laid-back, outdoor wedding, the variety of dresses was just right. Each wore a neutral shade in a lace or chiffon material, but they all wore a dress slightly different from one another.

Giant Games

And this wedding was a ton of fun, too! Between the dancing, giant jenga and giant yahtzee, all of the guests were laughing and smiling all night long.
