Two Cultures, Two Ceremonies

A Glam Bridal Party

Bridesmaids rocked pretty peacock blue dresses to match the theme, while the groomsmen kept it stylishly simple in black and white.

Sri Lankan Roots

Not only did the couple include the groom’s Greek traditions, but they mixed in the bride’s Sri Lankan traditions as well. The Greek Orthodox ceremony was followed by a Hindu ceremony, and the bridesmaids changed into elegant light blue saris.

All The Little Details

No small detail was left out of this eclectic wedding! Luxe blue and purple chair covers decorated the bride and groom chairs.

Family and friends helped the couple make koufeta or favor bags filled with Jordan almonds. In Greek culture, koufeta (also known as bomboniere), usually consist of five almonds which represent wishing the new husband and wife happiness, health, wealth, children, and a long life. A peacock feather was added to each bag for a unique touch.

A Simply Elegant Cake

A three-tier cake became an elegant centerpiece for the dessert table. Blue ribbon, purple orchids and green hydrangea added the perfect amount of color.

Peacock-inspired Décor

Inspired by rich jewel tones and the bride’s Sri Lankan culture, the wedding and reception décor was decked out in vivid blues, purples and greens. The darker color scheme combined both the bride’s and groom’s tastes, fusing nontraditional details with lush colors.

DIY Tip: Limited on space? Go vertical with your place cards! Hang a beaded curtain and attach place cards to strands of ribbon to show guests where to sit.
