Gather Your Supplies

For this DIY project, you’ll need:

  • 1 bag of mulling spices – We found ours at World Market. Purchase more if you have a very large group!
  • Small cinnamon sticks
  • Natural raffia ribbon
  • Striped paper favor bags and stickers – We used the neutral horizontal stripe bags with the “Fall Leaves” sticker design.DIY Thanksgiving Favor Bags Supplies | @KateAspen

Step 1: Assemble Bags

Begin assembling bags by filling each bag with mulling spices. We filled about one-fourth of each bag, but you can include as much as you like. Just make sure you buy enough mulling spices!

Step 2: Seal Each Bag

Next, fold each bag over and seal each shut with a sticker. For a cute touch, wrap raffia ribbon around one edge of each bag and tie a small cinnamon stick to each before tying a bow.

Step 3: Display!

It’s as easy as 1-2-3! Display your favor bags on a tray with customized stemless wine glasses with a fun Thanksgiving design. “This Wine Pairs Well With Turkey” and “Thankful for Wine” wine glass designs would also make perfect favors!

Guests can simmer their mulling spices in wine or cider for a delicious drink to enjoy when’s it’s cold outside. Hand out glasses before Thanksgiving dinner so guests can use them or wait until the end of the night to give them out as parting gifts!
