The Color Blue

Andie of Andie Freeman Photography says blue is going to be “a major player in the wedding palette” for 2017. Blue wedding dresses and wedding shoes “will dot the fashion landscape.” And soft blues will be a great complement to Pantone’s color of the year, avocado. We will see a lot of this color in the sense of “blue and white china inspired by Wedgwood.”

Copper Accents

Priscilla of Orangerie Events thinks accent colors gold and silver will take a back seat in 2017, letting copper steal the show. She notes how “polished copper can quickly enhance an elegant wedding while aged copper suits a rustic feel perfectly.” It really is a very versatile accent color! In 2017 we can expect to see copper sprinkled all throughout weddings.

Weekend Wedding Venues

Lindsay of Woman Getting Married says more and more brides are looking for a homey wedding experience, so she has seen an huge increase in what she refers to as “weekend wedding venues.” These venues are usually intimate lodges that weddings can rent out or large homes with “overnight accommodations for all or a few guests (depending on the size) with the rest staying at nearby hotels or inns.”

Smaller, More Intimate Affairs

Jessica of The Budget Savvy Bride thinks 2017 will bring smaller, more intimate weddings. She says, “Today’s savvy couples want to treat their guests to an amazing experience, and opting for a shorter guest list will help their budget stretch further.” Jessica also thinks this trend will lead to the growth in destination weddings.

Embellished Wedding Gowns & Greenery

Gillian of Coastal Bride thinks we will see two big trends for 2017: embellished wedding gowns and greenery, which just so happens to be Pantone’s color of the year. She says, “This past year lace gowns reigned supreme but I’m hoping brides take it a step further with embellished gowns in the new year!” Gillian also mentions how greenery is the perfect color for weddings because it represents “new beginnings and a fresh start.”
