The Walt Disney Company, Target and Academy Award-winning actress, singer and author Julie Andrews are coming together to introduce the first annual National Princess Week, which celebrates “every princess–real, aspiring or imagined.” The promotional event will take place April 22-28 at Target stores nationwide.
Here at Kate Aspen, we are also celebrating our own inner princesses this week, highlighting our latest venture with Disney Consumer Products. In early 2012, Kate Aspen launched a line of 11 enchanting favors inspired by one of the 7 most iconic Disney Princesses: Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Ariel.
Each Disney Princess Character has a unique story that empowers girls to imagine and live their very own fairy tale. Our Kate Aspen designers aspired to create a line of favors inspired by the Disney Princess with a dose of modern sophistication.
For example, Cinderella’s quintessential carriage icon is etched into a crystal topped bottle stopper. And her magical glass slipper gets the royal treatment in chrome with just the right amount of sparkle…perfectly marrying your childhood dreams with your sense of practicality.
We also designed a charming, vintage pearl frame, inspired by the lovely, sea-faring Ariel, and an elegant, ceramic coaster – embellished with metallic sparkle – harkening visions of Belle’s royal dinner. And let’s not forget the enchanting black or white baroque photo frames inspired by Snow White’s “Mirror, Mirror”.
