Flawless Fall Style

The bride glowed in a long-sleeved lace gown and brightly colored flower crown, while the groom looked so handsome in a classic tailored suit. His daughter wore a twirly dress and a flower crown just like the bride’s.

An Intimate Ceremony

The two exchanged vows in front of an intimate gathering of family in the Sculpture Garden at the San Diego Museum of Art at dusk. The bride’s brothers played music, making the moment extra special.

Planning Tip: Can’t decide between an intimate wedding and an extensive guest list? This couple opted for a small ceremony followed by a larger reception!

Creative Cocktails

To play on the art museum venue, guests were served “Painted Lady” signature drinks, a fitting choice for this bright and bold wedding!

A Private Moment

Following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed some private time in the galleries of the museum before descending the grand staircase for a dramatic entrance to the reception.

Planning Tip: A lot of time, planning, and emotions go in to planning a wedding and the day seems to go by in a flash! Be sure to carve out some time to enjoy each other’s company for a few moments and take it all in. Cocktail hour is typically a great opportunity to sneak in some shots with the photographer (and a bite to eat!) before joining guests for the reception.

A Stunning Reception

Guests were welcomed into a candlelit reception, where estate tables surrounded the dance floor and a sparkling chandelier appeared to float above the space. Guests received bracelets and bags handmade by the bride’s family, and a bicycle bottle opener with a note that read “Let the adventure begin” was placed on each plate. As the sun set, the lighting created a whimsical ambiance just in time for the first dance.

A Magical First Dance

The newlyweds danced to their first dance to “Magic” by Coldplay in what was such a magical moment!

An Artful Wedding Cake

The couple chose what appeared to be a simple white three-tiered cake, but the cake cutting revealed an artful surprise. The inside of the cake was inspired by Mondrian with a bright block design!Wedding cake cutting at the San Diego Museum of Art | Photos by Petula Pea PhotographyThis Mondrian inspired wedding cake by Sweet Lydia's was perfect for a Wedding at the San Diego Museum of Art | Photos by Petula Pea Photography

A Fabulous Farewell

A 15-piece band played the final hour of the reception as guests surrounded the bride and groom on the dance floor as they danced the night away.
