Quick & Easy DIY: Message in a Bottle Guest Book Alternative
We have shared some ideas for a nautical baby shower, full of personalized details for the mom-to-be. Now, here’s an easy DIY project for a special keepsake for baby. A fun alternative to the traditional guest book is a message in a bottle station. Guests will love this clever “wish book” idea and the new parents will enjoy reading all the sweet messages. Set up a table with this guest book and favors, and encourage guests to stop by to record a message for baby and pick up a favor as a “thanks” for coming.
Here’s how to set up the station:
Fill a glass container or pail with white sand and gently bury the bottoms of your message in a bottle tubes so they stand up in the sand. Have guests write messages to baby and slip the paper back in the bottle. These can be added to the baby book for memories that the whole family will treasure.
You can download our free printable “wishes” sign to tell guests what to do. Simply download, print, frame, and display! You can even re-purpose a frame you already own.
DIY tip: Customize the sign with the baby’s name or nickname! You will need to download the free font here.
Remember, you can print menu cards too! Our free printable menu cards match the Message in a Bottle sign and let your guests know what you are serving. Download this editable file and customize the menu cards with your own menu items. For both of these printables, you will need to download & install a free font to your computer.
