It’s Nicole here with a Wedding Wednesday update and DIY project. Last week marked the one year anniversary of our engagement and 100 days until we say ‘I do.’ We booked all of our wedding vendors shortly after getting engaged, so now it’s time to finalize all of the little details that will make our wedding uniquely ours. After many hours spent painting and catching up on reality TV, I have finally finished “antiquing” Kate Aspen’s baroque place card holders that will hold escort cards for our guests. The frames come in black and white, but I really wanted them to have a mixed metallic look so I took on a little “do it yourself” project. Here are the original frames:

Because of all the details in the design, I decided to hand paint rather than spray paint. Using a thin coat of paint allows them to dry pretty quickly. Here’s the end result:

I am so happy with how they turned out! My future Mother in law does calligraphy, so she will help fill out names and table assignments. The final step will be organizing a seating chart…any suggestions?

This is a guest blogger series from our Marketing Assistant, Nicole, who recently got engaged! “Wedding Wednesday” posts will be full of inspiration & updates updates as she and her fiance plan for their wedding next Spring.
