Spring is all about fresh growth, birth, and rebirth. With the buds opening up on greenery from bushes to trees and animals starting their brand new families, a spring theme is perfect for a baby shower. That’s what this family had in mind with this “April Showers Bring May Flowers” baby shower theme. Keep reading for inspiration for your own spring baby shower.
An Adventurous Spring
The new parents-to-be created a baby-friendly station for mom. This turquoise bookshelf held sweet details and practical baby items. Baby clothes hung from a clothespin line. Mom was able to open presents and chat with friends with such a lovely environment around her.
Baby’s breath dotted surfaces for a touch of early spring wildlife, along with rustic elements, like this cute crochet moose.
Embracing the April Showers theme, they created a beautiful rustic wood sign, “Adventure Awaits” and adorned a vintage suitcase filled with mini watering can party favors.
Each window sill was decorated with lively greenery. In this one, pink flowers in milk bottles sat atop a wooden moss plank with leaves grazing the bottom.
The watering cans were a sweet reminder that after the April showers, May flowers would soon be sprouting up.
Baby’s breath filled adorable little yellow rain boots–a perfect pop of bright color along with all the pastel pinks, greens, and blues. Fluffy stuffing surrounded the boot and vase decor, resembling clouds.
An antique baby scale provided a great decor prop and features the image of a stork carrying a new baby.
The new parents didn’t know the sex of their baby, so they chose a variety of colors to decorate the event, rather than sticking with the traditional blue or pink.
Delectable Desserts
Surrounded by beautiful spring flowers, the dessert table was an instant hit. Guests munched on a variety of sweet treats, including pizzelle cookies.
Cupcakes were adorned with frosting mimicking the fresh green grass with little fluffy clouds floating above.
Perfect for baby shower treats, sugar cookies were served with fun baby-themed designs. There were onesies, bassinets, and baby bottles along with umbrellas and flowers. Because of the mystery sex of the baby, they went with frosting accents in both pink and blue.
Showers of Happiness
Umbrellas were a must for the April Showers theme. The new mom had a special seat at the baby shower: A chair in front of a sign that read “Showers of Happiness.” Above her hung a flower-adorned umbrella with jewels hanging down to represent glittering rain.
Even the cake featured the “Showers of Happiness” theme. A floral chandelier hung from the ceiling with rain jewels falling down towards the cake. The cake was two-tiered and had a floral design at the base with rain cloud details at the top.
A vintage lace parasol hung from a door with flowers filling the inside. It was the perfect mix of the “April Showers” theme with lush floral accents.
What better way to celebrate the baby than with a spring themed shower! When the new baby arrives, he or she will no doubt be showered with love, happiness, and wondrous adventures.
